When I first heard about dreaming big several years ago, I thought it translated to becoming something really hard to obtain, such as being a famous singer or actress... Today while writing on my journal the idea of "dreaming big" popped into my head again, unexpectedly. At that moment, the idea of "dreaming big" translated to: become the president of my country, Colombia. I stopped for a minute to consider the true meaning behind the words DREAM BIG.
Why must we dream big?
What would happen if I we do not dream big?
Does dreaming big lead to a life of success and happiness? or could it possibly lead me to a life filled with regret if indeed I do not achieve what I had hoped I would?
If I don`t dream big, I could never be disappointed!
But, who wants to live a life where you dream of achieving absolutely nothing? Where would be your encouragement to get out of bed every morning, rush to class and turn in an A+ paper?
We all need to have some kind of motive that gets us going every day; a motive that fills us with a sense of accomplishment and happiness. Whether this motive is love, career, social... we all need that thrive to live successful lives.
So, dreaming big does´t truly mean aiming to climb the tree just to be up there... it means climbing the tree to the point where the view is most beautiful from, where you enjoy it most.
Dreaming big translates to: dream of a life of happiness. Achieve what you want to achieve, work for what you want to accomplish, and reward yourself everyday. Life deserves a balance of good friends, a beautiful love and rewarding career. That is dreaming big, dreaming of happiness, dreaming of love.
Dreaming big is a journey that we embark on since the day we are born...if you have ever smiled, you have dreamed big...don´t stop now, the journey continues, make it a happier one every single day.
Colombian, living and traveling the world (well- not so much at the moment) I am currently sharing my time between San Diego, CA and Albuquerque, NM.
